Sadly, the bill doesn't feature this image.
I suppose to keep people like me from bursting into tears every time they visit the ATM. Instead the bill features a close up of the massive stone pillars behind her.
However, the idiots that were used to focus group the bills, or whatever, said that the image looked "too pornographic," and some complained that they looked like The Twin Towers. Who would even think they would put something pornographic on legal tender? And, wtf, "too" pornographic? As if something more soft core would be okay?) And every paired, tall structure looks like The Twin Towers. There's nothing we can do about that. And these were here first! A large part of the problem is that while I was able to immediately recognized the image, these people didn't know what it was:
Unfortunately, most focus group participants were unable to identify the iconic memorial or even knew of its existence according to a report from obtained by CTV News. All the more reason to READ THE WHAT'S PRINTED OVER THE IMAGE, PEOPLE. Where do they find these people?
Maybe if I wasn't cranky from not being able to sleep this wouldn't bother me so much. But I doubt it.

I wish I could say it all started going downhill once they removed the loon from the bill, but I've really approved of some of the choices for themes on the new bills. The $100 is about Canada's medical research contributions, and the $50 is about Arctic scientific research. The Bank of Canada seems to be pro-science -- even the dinosaur quarters are about science!
Plus if any Canadian monument should be more visible in the public eye, it's Vimy.

I couldn't agree more.
